The Energy Commission (ST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SME Corp. Malaysia to expand and continue the collaborative relationship between both parties.

The areas of cooperation outlined in this MoU include:

  • Joint implementation of activities for development programs involving Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs); and
  • Exchange/sharing of information to stakeholders to ensure that agreed policies and programs can be effectively implemented.

The CEO of the Energy Commission, Dato’ Ir. Ts Abdul Razib Dawood, said that ST, as the regulatory body for the country’s energy sector, hopes that the signing of this MoU will further enhance the cooperation between both parties, especially regarding MSMEs development programs, which also include awareness programs on energy efficiency and electrical and gas pipeline safety among MSMEs.

According to SME Corp CEO Rizal Nainy, being the Central Coordinating Agency in MSMEs development, the corporation can help raise awareness about energy efficiency programs through the ministries and agencies involved.
