Zebra’s Penang facility to drive innovation across industries while supporting the state government’s ‘Penang 2030’ ambition

Zebra Technologies Corporation today reinforced its commitment to the Malaysian market through its expansion in Penang. Since the establishment of Zebra’s Penang facility at the Bayan Lepas Industrial Zone in 2014, Zebra has increased its local workforce from 100 to 500 people and its operational space has grown from 36,000 square feet to 58,000 square feet with the addition of a new wing.

The facility serves as a Global Business Services Hub that supports Zebra’s global and regional markets through a wide range of shared services functions including the Contact Center, Repair Supply Chain, Network Operating Center (NOC) and Contract Renewal among others. A vast majority of its current workforce is comprised of local talent.
