Vietnam’s government has announced a decision to establish the Danang IT Park in the fast developing city of Danang in the country’s central coast.

The Danang IT Park will focus on high-tech sectors and hopes to attract both foreign and local investors who want to take advantage of the region’s talent pool. Danang has a engineering university and relatively low labour costs compared to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The government said among the investments to be promoted in the IT Park are IT-related industries electronics and telecommunications. The Park will span 131 hectares in the Hoa Vang District of Danang.

Vietnam’s IT sector has flourished in the northern and southern regions of the country, and with this new decision, it appears the government is hoping to boost the high-tech sector and research and development activities in the central region as well.
