The automotive industry is in a state of transition. From internal combustion engines, major manufacturers are transitioning to electric cars. Even more advanced technologies like self-driving cars are on the horizon, and will pose several challenges for manufacturers.
Nevertheless, the automotive industry is ahead of other industries in the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, and plans to accelerate investment in these advanced tools. Grasping the pulse of Industry 4.0, Taiwan has integrated solutions of smart machinery and manufacturing in ensuring that automotive manufacturers are competitive and profitable.
In order to familiarize global buyers and media with Taiwanese smart manufacturing, Taiwan Excellence hosted the “Smart Machine Tools for Automotive and Parts Manufacturing” online products and solutions on 28th of October to introduce its advancements in smart automotive manufacturing.
A new concept “Taiwan Excellence Smart Machinery Industry Virtual Pavilion” was also launched at the online event. The virtual pavilion was divided into 5 themed areas. A total of 60 award-winning Taiwan Excellence products from 50 leading companies are exhibited, starting from the automation industry, electronic processes, large machine tools and spare parts to other industrial equipment.
The online event welcomes four companies that represent the industry: SEYI, JAINNHER, YDPM and TONGTAI, to showcase the companies’ products and solutions including servo press, thread grinding machine, precision machinery and turnkey solutions.
Four representative Taiwanese Smart Machinery companies, include:
SEYI is a leading manufacturer of medium-large servo presses. SEYI’s servo presses have been supplied to many customers in different markets, including a well-known German high-end vehicle manufacturer and the famous America electrical car maker. Their Straight Side Eccentric Gear Servo Press (SDE Series) won the Greater China Area “2017 Metal Forming Industry Ringier Innovation Awards”. Its offers flexible stamping profiles to operate various processes for medium & large lightweight auto parts. In addition, by combining progressive die with pendulum curve, the productivity can be doubled, which saves more than 50% of energy.
JAINNHER is a first three largest grinding manufacturer in Taiwan. Their Thread Grinding Machine can install sensors to detect the current mechanical state, and can make gradual adjustments through its self-developed algorithm calculation analysis to meet customers’ requirements and reduce production costs. The intelligent platform installed on this grinding machine is more effective in improving the precision and efficiency of machining and producing high-precision components than other machines on the market.
YDPM is a machinery supplier in Taiwan, offering high quality CNC Turning Lathe, CNC Horizontal / Vertical Machining Centers and etc. YDPM has technical exchanges with concerned research agencies and supplies from both home and abroad, in order to obtain leading technology for current and future products. Their Horizontal Machining Centers offers simple operation and versatile machining areas. It can be applied to machining components in the watchmaking, automotive, motorcycle, electronics and aircraft industries. It is lightweight and has high rigidity.
TONGTAI is one of the largest machine tool companies in Taiwan with an exceptional presence in Asia and a manufacturing network spanning Taiwan, China and Malaysia. Tongtai is also well-known in various machine types and Turnkey solutions. With the trend of Industry 4.0, Tongtai has provided the Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions to our worldwide customers. Gathering the technologies of IoT, CPS, FMS, and MES, our solutions realize the goals on virtual representation, digital-twin, and cyber-physical. Being a machine tools provider, Tongtai focuses on integrating comprehensive manufacturing data and input the information to customer’s ERP system and theirs supply chain system for further applications.
