The Taiwan Expo 2018 in Malaysia, held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, concluded on 27 October 2018, bringing a close to the second instalment of the event in Kuala Lumpur. The three-day event attracted more than 230,000 visitors and generated business opportunities of approximately NT$1.5 billion (US$48.38 million). The expo, co-organised by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and the(TAITRA), brought to Malaysia six main highlights designed to showcase Taiwan’s lifestyle, leisure and the vision of high-quality living.
The expo focused on green technology, food and lifestyle, and the burgeoning halal trade. In particular, halal cosmetics and halal foodstuffs made from Taiwanese ingredients received a good response from traders and exhibitors. Business matching sessions were held throughout the event which connected Malaysian and Taiwanese businesses.
