Marina Square Shopping Mall is set to undergo a S$95 million makeover with a new gourmet wing slated to open in June this year.
The makeover will feature a S$15 million “The Dining Edition” wing, which spans some 50,000 square feet. The wing will feature 16 new food and beverage outlets, and according to landlord Marina Centre Holdings, 14 tenants have been secured.
The next phase of the redevelopment will feature a new 200,000 sq feet mall, due to open in the fourth quarter next year. The new retail wing will be constructed at a cost of S$80 million.
According to Chan Yiew Mei, General Manager of Marina Centre Holdings, a strategic decision to redevelop the Southern Plaza where the fountain and steps are has been made. It will yield 200 metres of prime frontage of front land that will be embracing the bay.
“That is going to get us a bit more engagement with what is happening on the ground, with all the events like F1 and chingay parades,” Chan added.
