L’Oréal Brandstorm, an annual international unique business challenge has invited Lion & Lion as one of the the judges and mentor for L’Oréal Brandstorm 2016 Malaysia National Finals.
Every year, Brandstorm challenges teams of three undergraduates representing their varsity to propose a product or service launch for one of L’Oréal’s 27 international brands in line with the latest market developments and trends. This year, undergraduates were put to a test to share their creativity in developing a digital communication strategy for La Roche-Posay, dermatological skincare in Malaysia.
Along with other judges – the Managing Partner of Lion & Lion, Casper Andersen was invited to provide insights as the digital communication expert.
“With the current technological advance and fast paced era, digital communication is a very crucial strategy in building brand connections. We are happy to be here supporting and at the same time grow the next digital talent,” said Casper Andersen.
He added, “The digital communication penetration in Malaysia is growing gradually. There are still many avenues that the young marketers could explore such as Search Marketing and Social Marketing.”
Prior to the National Finals, Lion & Lion conducted a digital marketing workshop with 3 contestant teams. Meredith Wallace, Group Head of Social & Engagement and Jennifer Ooi, Creative Director of Lion & Lion troubleshoot on the contestant teams digital strategy.
Out of the 3 finalist, team The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (GBU) from Taylor’s University was crowned the National Champions of L’Oreal Brandstorm 2016 and they will be representing Malaysia and compete with great minds from other country in the International Finals at Paris on 30 June 2016. The team comprising of Amanda Woo, Omar Khan and Tushaani Naidu, presented an exciting and fun concept on how La Roche-Posay is able to attract and retain the new consumer group.
“The champion team showed great promise as their strategy contains some great creative ideas and the most important, able to fulfill the campaign’s objective. We see that the team has the potential to compete in the International Finals,” Casper Andersen added.
“No words could describe our excitement. We are so honoured to be representing Malaysia in the International Finals. Lion & Lion’s insights and guidelines helped us tremendously in planning our strategy, with that, we are grateful, said Omar Khan one of the members of Team The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
