The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Malaysia Chapter (PMC) has announced its new line up of Office Bearers for 2013 – 2015 after the 33rd PATA AGM held on 29 March at the Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur. YBhg Dato’ Haji Azizan Noordin was re-elected as Chairman of the PMC, and will continue performing his duties for a second term. Currently, he is also sitting on the PATA Executive Board.
YBhg Dato’ Haji Azizan Noordin, who is also the Deputy Director General of Planning for Tourism Malaysia, is assisted in his duties by other board members of the PMC, such as YBhg. Dato Rashid Khan (Sarawak Tourism Board) as Vice-Chairman, YBhg. Datuk M. Ali (Paradise Travel & Tours Sdn. Bhd) as the Honorary Secretary, and Mr. Aruldas Arulandu (Tourland Travel Sdn. Bhd) as the Honorary Treasurer.
The other ten committee members include Mr. Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan (Taylor’s University), Mr. Duncan Bureau (Malaysia Airlines), Mr. Steve Woon (Lexis Hotels & Resorts), Associate Professior Dr. Mohamad Abdullah Hemdi (Faculty of Hotel & Tourism Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA), Ms. Evelyn Lim (Destination Resorts & Hotels), Mr. Fahmy Mubarak (Get Away Agency Sdn. Bhd), Mr. Kamaruddin Baharin (The Royale Bintang KL), Mr. Rohizam Md Yusuff (Creative Advances Technology), YBhg. Dato’ Shamsul Falak (Kuala Lumpur Tourism Association) and Mr. John Tan (Mitra Travel).
In addition, Mr D.Ramchand (MSL Travel) and YM Tunku Dato’ Seri Iskandar (World Express) were also elected as the Honorary Auditors.
The announcement comes several months after PMC’s recent shift to Putrajaya on 2 January earlier this year, from its previous office in Subang Jaya. This year, the PMC has already gained a running start as it has planned out future programmes such as student chapter/career development, promotional seminars and activities, as well as a detailed corporate responsibility programme (CSR).
