Naza Italia today launched the limited edition Maserati Levante Vulcano SUV, in conjunction with Naza’s 10th anniversary of collaboration with the Italian marque.
While the Levante has been available in Malaysia since 2016, the limited edition Levante Vulcano features exclusive matte ‘Grigio Lava’ paintwork, 21-inch Helios wheels, red Pieno Fiore leather seats, and Nerissimo pack detailing (dark look rear light clusters, black chrome front grille and logos, glossy black window surrounds, body-coloured door handles and burnished exhaust tailpipes).
Naza Italia has been the sole importer and distributor of Maserati in Malaysia since 2009. The first models introduced to the market were the Maserati GranTurismo coupe and Quattroporte sedan. The GranCabrio convertible and Ghibli sports sedan followed, with the latter proving to be very well accepted by the Malaysian market.
The Maserati Levante represents the marque’s first foray into the popular SUV segment. Fellow Italian luxury brands Alfa Romeo and Lamborghini have also launched their own SUV makes, the Stelvio and Urus respectively. SUVs are profitable money-makers for their marques, especially for Maserati and fellow Fiat Chrysler stablemate Alfa Romeo following years of struggling sales.
The Levante Vulcano, like the base model Levante, features a Ferrari-built 3-litre V6 engine, producing 430hp. The engine is mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, shared with the Maserati Quattroporte. Prices start at RM838,800 (inclusive of all local taxes and duties). The price also includes 3 years standard warranty coverage with no mileage restriction, plus a free maintenance program of 3 years/100,000 km (whichever comes first).
