Maybank and Gentari have formalised their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at exploring joint ventures in green mobility and renewable energy solutions.
Under this agreement, Maybank Islamic’s InCharge pre-credit program will be expanded to include Gentari’s charging stations, enhancing accessibility and benefits for customers. Gentari boasts the widest network of DC fast chargers in Malaysia.
Maybank Islamic InCharge is an EV pre-credit incentive program designed for EV and Hybrid vehicle owners utilizing Maybank Islamic Auto financing, with credits redeemable at selected charging stations.
Partnering with Gentari as their clean energy solutions provider, Maybank plans to install charging points for electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid vehicles across its network of premises and branches nationwide, starting with ten strategically chosen locations.
Shah Yang Razalli, deputy CEO of Gentari and CEO of Gentari Green Mobility, emphasized the importance of collaboration among diverse stakeholders to promote accessible, sustainable, and affordable clean energy.
He highlighted the partnership between Maybank and Gentari as an alliance of like-minded entities dedicated to facilitating the transition towards a sustainable lifestyle.
Furthermore, this collaboration will extend to Maybank’s SME customers, offering access to consultancy and advisory services facilitated by Gentari, renowned as an industry expert in clean energy, through Maybank’s myimpact SME Hub.
Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar, Group CEO of Maybank Community Financial Services, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to becoming a sustainability leader in Southeast Asia. He emphasized Maybank’s role in sustainable financing and its pivotal role as a catalyst for low-carbon initiatives. Taufik Albar underscored Maybank’s comprehensive approach to green mobility and renewable energy solutions, aligning with the bank’s purpose of Humanising Financial Services.
Additionally, the collaboration will encompass cross-branding and marketing efforts, promoting Maybank’s suite of product offerings, including financing, insurance, and takaful, as well as card partnerships and other initiatives.
