Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Office (GBA Office) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will jointly host an exclusive business seminar on 8 November 2024 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Partnering with the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCIM), InvestHK aims to offer Malaysian businesses insights into the latest developments and opportunities within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The seminar will highlight how overseas businesses can leverage Hong Kong’s strategic position as a gateway to establishing and expanding in the GBA.
The GBA comprises 11 cities, including Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, with a combined population of 86 million and a GDP of US$2 trillion. The area champions free movement of talent, goods, and capital, creating an open, internationalised business environment. Home to advanced R&D and manufacturing centres, the GBA is particularly attractive for technology companies.
Hong Kong, as the GBA’s most globally connected city, is strengthening its role as a financial, transport, and trade hub while aiming to lead in offshore renminbi business, asset management, and professional services. It is also developing its innovation, high-tech industries, and legal services for the Asia Pacific.
