Numerous small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are adapting to the evolving business landscape by developing versatile and digitally enhanced operational strategies. InnoClub, a collaborative initiative between the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hang Seng Bank, recently organized a Solution Day event in 2021. This event provided a comprehensive overview of innovative operational solutions, spanning areas such as online banking, cloud accounting, human resources, payment remittance, and marketing.

InnoClub serves as a platform to impart technological knowledge to SMEs in Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It conducts seminars, business matching sessions, exchange activities, and offers information on innovation and technology. The platform actively encourages SMEs to adopt new technologies and innovative solutions, facilitating their upgrading and transformation processes.

Eddie Lee, Associate Director of Merchandise Trade and Innovation at HKTDC, emphasized the importance of collaboration between start-ups and enterprises of varying sizes. Such collaborations enable market players to comprehend and utilize the new technologies introduced by start-ups, leading to technological advancement and transformation. Start-ups, in turn, can bring their inventive ideas and technologies to the market.

Angela Mung, Head of Sales, Business Banking Global Payments Solutions at Hang Seng Bank, highlighted the concept of Banking as a Service (BaaS) in the banking industry. Hang Seng Bank launched the All-in-One Business Solution, which connects digital service providers, simplifying SME business processes. She emphasized the benefits of digitization, enabling companies to concentrate on their core business activities. Digitalization streamlines operations, reduces human resources and costs, and allows businesses to allocate more time and effort to essential tasks.
