Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd (GSC) has added another 18 cinema screens to its circuit from today with the opening of the nine-screen GSC Setia City Mall in Shah Alam and nine-screen GSC Paradigm Mall in Kelana Jaya.
GSC Chief Executive Koh Mei Lee said more than RM36 million had been invested in the two new cinemas.
The two “25th” new cinema openings are part of GSC’s on-going 25th anniversary activities this year, which include the introduction of a new GSC brand (GSC Lite) at Mentakab Star Mall in March.
In addition, GSC plans to open another two cinemas (GSC City One Mall in Kuching and GSC Amanjaya in Sg Petani) by the end of 2012.
Next year, GSC has scheduled a 10-screen GSC Palm Mall in Seremban, 11-screen GSC Nu Sentral KL and another GSC Lite in Miri. In 2014, 11 screens have been planned for IOI City Mall in Putrajaya.
