Malaysian David Kong, founder of Southeast Asia’s largest full-service funeral company, Nirvana Asia, has been ranked as among the most influential business leaders in the world.
In Forbes’ second annual Global Game Changers list, Kong was listed with 24 other trailblazers such as Slack creator Stewart Butterfield, Alibaba logistics maestro Judy Tong and renowned inventor James Dyson. The list of the most influential business leaders from around the world is based on the level of corporate growth, innovation and international presence.
“These global game changers are impacting industries and lives around the world. In order to be considered for the Forbes Global Game Changers list, leaders must be running a for-profit operation with a market value of at least US$1 billion that is growing and innovating better than its peers,” Forbes said in a statement today.
“These are true movers and shakers who are reshaping their industries and forever changing the way we work, travel, communicate and invest,” said Forbes staff writer Lauren Gensler, who edited the Forbes Global Game Changers list. “We set out to find the most intrepid, innovative people in the business world who are thinking big and moving the needle,” she added.
The list also features Scott Farquhar and Mike Cannon-Brookes, the Australian billionaires behind enterprise software giant Atlassian.
With a blockbuster IPO in 2015 and annual revenues approaching US$600 million, Atlassian is one of the most successful technology startups in Australian history.
NASA, Snapchat, Twilio and Spotify are among the world’s most prominent innovators that use Atlassian’s products.
