The EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI) presented its EUROPA Sustainability Awards 2012 to sixteen community-based organisations, charities, societies and non-governmental organisations for their excellent social, environmental and governance contributions in Malaysia.
At a gala dinner at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Professor Dr. Geoffrey Williams, Deputy-Chairman of EUMMCI and Chairman of the CSR Committee in EUMCCI, said the awards are EUMCCI’s way of recognising the leadership and vision of these organisations that operate with integrity and responsibility.
The EUROPA Sustainability Awards were presented in conjunction with EUMCCI’s Social Responsibility week, which is being held from September 24 to September 27. This year’s theme is “Foundations of Social Enterprise,” which focused on the emergence of social enterprises and charitable foundations as well as highlighting issues of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in business and management.
During the Social Enterprise week, four interactive classes were conducted by experts to provide participants with more practical tools to experience the management of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
