Ranked No. 1 in Taiwan’s banking industry for four consecutive years by Forbes, E.SUN Bank has now established a presence in Malaysia, further strengthening its commitment to the ASEAN region.
The ASEAN economies have experienced rapid growth in recent years, attracting increasing investments from international companies and Taiwanese investors due to changes in global supply chains. As part of its core strategy, “Rooted in Taiwan, Expanding across Asia,” E.SUN Bank currently has branches in Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and a representative office in Thailand.
Led by Chairman Joseph Huang, the management team hosted a gala dinner in Kuala Lumpur to mark the grand opening of the Kuala Lumpur Representative Office. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. James Buu, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, and Mr. Lin Kai Min, President of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Malaysia (TWCHAM).
Numerous influential Taiwanese businessmen also attended the event. The opening ceremony featured a performance by the E.SUN Choir, showcasing Taiwan’s enthusiasm and vitality, and left a positive impression on the attendees.
James Buu highlighted E.SUN Bank’s excellence in corporate governance and comprehensive performance, noting its commitment to corporate social responsibility and ESG initiatives.
“E.SUN Bank excels in corporate governance and comprehensive performance, while also remaining committed to corporate social responsibility by actively promoting ESG initiatives. It has been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for 10 consecutive years.
“Taiwan and Malaysia have a very close economic and trade relationship. It is believed that the E.SUN Bank Kuala Lumpur Representative Office will not only provide better services to Taiwanese businesses in Malaysia and ASEAN but will also uphold E.SUN’s values of integrity, professionalism, and responsibility, fostering growth and development in Malaysia,” he said.
Lin Kai Min added, “E.SUN Bank is widely recognized for its management image, service quality, and financial innovation. Through the multinational financial services platform established by E.SUN, I believe that Malaysian enterprises and Taiwanese businesses looking to invest in Malaysia in the future will greatly benefit from this initiative.”
E.SUN Bank’s global expansion includes establishing overseas branches that benefit multinational corporations with its cross-border financial platform, facilitating transactions such as deposits, credit lines, and wealth management tailored to local operations.
The Kuala Lumpur Representative Office will serve as a valuable resource for collecting local economic and financial information, providing consultation services to Taiwanese businesses operating in Malaysia, and enhancing coordination with other units in E.SUN’s ASEAN platform. This will enable E.SUN to deliver precise and professional services to its customers.
With the addition of the Kuala Lumpur Representative Office, E.SUN now operates 32 branches in 11 countries and regions. Additionally, the Kumamoto Sub-Branch in Japan is scheduled to open in late October this year.
Moving forward, E.SUN will continue to integrate domestic and international resources, expanding its extensive service network to provide diversified and comprehensive cross-border financial services to Taiwanese businesses and local enterprises. E.SUN aims to be the trusted partner for customers venturing into the Asia-Pacific region.
