CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad have recently introduced an integrated e-billing feature in partnership with Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) on their CIMB BizChannel and CIMB Clicks platforms.

This pioneering move makes CIMB the first bank to implement the new e-billing service, offering businesses a seamless and convenient way to fulfill their tax obligations by allowing them to pay taxes directly through the online banking platforms.

To initiate a tax payment, customers need to obtain a Bill Number from LHDN’s one-stop MyTax service portal. Once they have the Bill Number, they can log in to either CIMB BizChannel or CIMB Clicks, navigate to the bill payment section, choose ‘LHDN e-Billing’ as the biller, and enter the provided Bill Number.

The system will automatically populate the taxpayer’s details, enabling customers to proceed with the payment directly from their bank accounts.

The integration of LHDN’s e-billing system into CIMB’s platforms ensures that each tax payment transaction receives a unique reference number, enhancing accuracy and transparency. The secure payment validation through direct linkage with LHDN further adds to the reliability of the process.

Ahmad Shazli Kamarulzaman, Deputy CEO, group commercial banking, CIMB Group, expressed his satisfaction in collaborating with LHDN to introduce the new e-billing feature. He emphasized how this convenient option simplifies and streamlines tax payments for businesses, including corporations and SMEs.

CIMB remains committed to offering innovative, customer-centric solutions that cater to the evolving needs of businesses while providing a secure and seamless banking experience.

Marsidi Bin Zelika, director of revenue  collection department at LHDN Malaysia, expressed delight in collaborating with CIMB Bank on this e-Billing project. He acknowledged the dedication and expertise of the CIMB team, which played a crucial role in the successful implementation of the initiative.

He also highlighted the significant benefits the e-billing feature would bring to LHDNM and the enhanced payment experience it would provide to Malaysian taxpayers.

The new e-billing feature complements other tax payment methods available via CIMB, such as FPX and online credit card payments through the MyTax portal, as well as payments at CIMB ATMs and branches nationwide.

CIMB BizChannel serves as the Bank’s platform for business clients, enabling them to manage their accounts, payments, and finances conveniently at any time and from anywhere. In 2022, CIMB BizChannel witnessed a notable 36% increase in transaction volume and an 11% growth in users year-on-year (YoY).
