Chatime has announced that award-winning actress, Crystal Lee, is the brand’s first “Chatime Friend”.

Crystal’s talent took her from the local to the international stage, where she stole the hearts of many in the movie “Unbeatable”, including Best Actor, Nick Cheung, who was also starred in the movie. She is the youngest actress ever to win the award for ‘Best Actress’ at the recent 16th Shanghai International Film Festival. The festival saw over 1,600 entries in competition.

“I am thrilled that Crystal is a ‘friend’ of Chatime. In just a few years, her incredible talent has made her one of the most popular child actresses on the silver screen. At a tender age of 10, Crystal is committed, genuine, fun, with an inspiring sense of humour, and in total resonance with Chatime’s brand values,” said Loo Chee Leng, General Manager, Chatime Malaysia.

The main objective of the “Chatime Friends Programme” is to be involved in nurturing the exciting development of Malaysia’s budding talents across all artistic fields, such as the performing arts, fashion, graphic design, video production and many more. Crystal Lee will be the first artiste sponsored by Chatime as part of their initiative to grow and sustain the Malaysian creative industry.

“It was an honour to receive the Best Actress award. I still can’t believe I won. Winning this award will give me the confidence and motivation to work harder. As my mentor Dennis Lau says – “The Sky’s the limit,” said Crystal.

“And now that I am a ‘friend’ of Chatime, I believe that I will be able to attain the added exposure through all of Chatime’s initiatives. This platform provided by Chatime will indeed help people in the creative industry like me to soar to greater heights,” added Crystal.

Amongst the initiatives Chatime is undertaking for its “Chatime Friends Programme”, will be to promote the artistes at all Chatime Malaysia outlets and on its various social media platforms. The brand will also host press conferences or events that involve the artistes, as well as fans of Chatime.

Since arriving to Malaysia in 2010, Chatime has actively participated in supporting talented young Malaysians in the creative field. The brand has previously provided a platform for graphic designers to showcase their creative talent by designing its limited edition “Loyalty Chatime Thirstea” cards. Their initiative extends with artists given the privilege to transform each Chatime Malaysia outlet into an art gallery or a stage to showcase their performing skills.

Including Malaysia, Chatime has over 800 retail outlets established across the world.
