Malaysia Futures Brokers Association (“MFBA”) members at the 20th Annual General Meeting, re-elected Ms Azila A. Aziz, CEO and Head of Listed Derivatives of Kenanga Deutsche Futures Sdn Bhd (“Kenanga Deutsche Futures”) as President for a second term. As the President of MFBA, Azila will continue to lead and represent the association alongside with its newly elected Management Committees in connecting all members to become one voice for the Malaysian Futures industry and to uphold the objectives of the formation of MFBA.
MFBA was established in 1996 represents futures brokers that are duly registered with Bursa Malaysia Derivatives (“BMD”) and licensed by the Securities Commission of Malaysia. The Association acts as the single voice for the Malaysia futures industry and plays a pivotal role in building support with relevant authorities and regulators for coordinated strategies that are aligned with the requirements of the industry.
According to Datuk Chay Wai Leong, Group Managing Director, K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad said, “MFBA plays an important role in the futures industry as a key driver in promoting the advancement of the business and elevating the futures broking profession. It drives active engagement and dialogue with Malaysia’s regulatory bodies including BMD, the Securities Commission and Finance Ministry as well as the CME Group. We believe that Azila has the right leadership skills to lead MFBA to the next level, similar to what she has done at Kenanga Deutsche Futures of continuing to drive the business forward domestically and globally.”
Azila is also a member of the FTSE Russell Bursa Malaysia Index Advisory Committee, a post held since 2006. Azila has more than two decades of industry experience where at the onset she developed capabilities and knowledge that were unique to the futures broking business as well as was exposed to the dynamic role of sales and dealing of Malaysian Futures products to foreign and domestic institutions. She was also instrumental in retaining the Firm’s position as the Malaysia’s “Best Derivatives Trading Broker” and “Best Trading Broker – Equity Derivatives”, awarded by BMD for 13 consecutive years. She currently leads and manages Kenanga Deutsche Futures in offering trade execution, clearing services as well as aptly acts as a solutions provider for global institutions and domestic clients to access and trade into BMD listed products.
