Integrated car e-commerce platform, CARSOME, is expanding its regional headquarters in Malaysia, in its efforts to grow a high-skilled workforce that would solve all customers’ pain points in the car ownership journey.

The new headquarters occupies 41,860 sq ft of space, spread across four stories at KYM Tower in Mutiara Damansara, housing over 560 employees.

CARSOME co-founder and  Academy CEO Teoh Jiun Ee said that the expansion underlined the firm’s vision to make Malaysia a central talent hub in the region.

“The expansion exemplifies another one of our corporate milestones since the establishment of CARSOME in 2015. We believe that the larger and better workspace for our CARSOMErs will elevate their working experience, at the same time meet the needs of our team for a larger and more inspirational workspace.

“Through our growing workforce, we endeavor to channel more efforts into talent development in Malaysia to bolster our regional presence through strategic hires, upskills, and development of local talents,” he said.

The new headquarters opening was officiated by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) CEO, Mahadhir Aziz. “MDEC would like to congratulate CARSOME on their regional headquarters expansion.

“CARSOME is indeed Malaysia’s very own pride and joy – an innovative and inventive company that is not only an indicator of Malaysia’s robust and thriving digital ecosystem, but also evidence of the country’s strength as the digital hub of the region.

As Malaysia aspires to be a high-income nation, he noted that at least 45 percent of the workforce needs to be highly skilled.

“CARSOME’s expansion marks the growth of their local and regional talent pool as well as their commitment towards developing future talents. Their dedication towards inculcating digital talents is aligned to the goals of Malaysia Digital, which seeks to accelerate the adoption of digital among the rakyat.

“We look forward to working with CARSOME in nurturing Malaysia’s digital talents and in supporting their future growth and expansions across the region,” he said.

The start-up has also established the CARSOME Academy in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia and introduced CARSOME Certified Lab in Malaysia to further develop and nurture a skilled TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) workforce.

Recently CARSOME received the Unicorn Status Award from Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Bin Yaakob, and MDEC for being one of the most successful start-ups in Malaysia.
