CARSOME Group Inc., the largest integrated car e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia, has announced the appointment of Yeoh Oon Jin as its first Independent Director.
This significant addition to the Board of Directors is effective from 30 June 2023, with Yeoh also taking on the role of Chairman of the Group’s Audit Committee.
Yeoh brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in various areas including corporate governance, risk management, organisational strategy, people and culture, and digital transformation.
His expertise will be invaluable as CARSOME advances into the next phase of its development, aiming to establish an effective and independent Board while delivering an outstanding customer experience within the used car industry.
Furthermore, CARSOME is dedicated to embracing long-term sustainability through operational excellence and is working towards establishing the world’s first integrated car ownership ecosystem in Southeast Asia.
In addition to his role at CARSOME, Yeoh holds other prestigious positions. He serves as a Board Member at Singapore Exchange Limited, Chairman of the Singapore Land Authority, and Vice Chairman and Audit Committee Chair at the Singapore Business Federation.
Furthermore, he is a member of the Corporate Governance Advisory Committee of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Yeoh also contributes to the non-profit sector as the Director and Audit Committee Chairman of the Kidney Dialysis Foundation and serves as an Independent Governor for the Lien Foundation.
Prior to joining CARSOME, Yeoh had a distinguished career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) Singapore, where he served as the Executive Chairman until his retirement in June 2021.
Throughout his 38-year tenure at PwC, he held leadership positions for over 15 years, including chairing regional joint ventures such as PwC SEA Consulting and PwC SEA Corporate Finance. Additionally, he was a member of the PwC Strategy Council, which brought together leaders from the largest 21 firms within the PwC global network.
