British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) and Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia have signed a partnership to run a series of events designed to drive and facilitate business dialogue amongst the business community in the country. The latest move is part of the Bank’s commitment to assist growing and thriving businesses in Malaysia.

The first installment of BMCC-Standard Chartered Bank Business Series Luncheon saw participation from the country’s top business leaders including the SMEs, various corporations, BMCC members as well as the Bank’s clients. The highlight of the session was a keynote address by Marios Maratheftis, Global Head of Macro Research, Standard Chartered Bank who offered guests an insightful outlook of the global economy and managing external uncertainties in emerging economies.

“We are delighted to partner with BMCC to bring this series of events designed for the business community,” said Osman Morad, Managing Director and CEO, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad. “This business series provides a unique platform for business leaders to gain a perspective which may inspire new thinking and drive business forward.  As both Standard Chartered and BMCC have aligned objectives of supporting the business community, we hope the business series will make a material contribution to the long-term competitiveness of these organisations.”

“The partnership with Standard Chartered Bank is our way of giving tangible support to our members and their businesses. There are many game-changer visionaries in our SME pool and they are hungry for opportunities,” Molly Jagpal, Executive Director of the BMCC, said in her speech.
