The “Eastbound Nexus: RCEP Tech Forum 2023,” hosted by the Global Innovation Technology Platform (GITP), concluded successfully today at WORQ Bangsar South. This event stands as a significant milestone, fostering collaboration between ASEAN and Chinese technology markets, bringing together industry leaders and experts to share insights and strategies, providing a roadmap for navigating the dynamic landscape of the Chinese market.
The event gathered industry leaders and experts, including Raffles Chan, CEO of GITP, Yong Kai Ping, CEO of SIDEC, Prof. Dr. Ong Kian Ming, director – philosophy, politics and economics (PPE) programme for Taylor’s University and former deputy minister of MITI, Dr. Melissa Foo, head of Sunway iLabs Ventures, Tauqif Iskandar, CEO of Penjana Kapital, Hisham Bari, head of MYStartup Malaysia, Ng Sai Kit, chairman at Malaysia Venture Capital Association, and Saiful Azlan Ismail, director of strategic change management office MYDigital Corporation.
The event not only provided a platform for knowledge exchange but also marked a significant stride in bridging the ASEAN and Chinese technology markets. Industry leaders shared rich insights and actionable strategies, offering a roadmap for navigating the intricate landscape of the Chinese market.
The forum also served as a platform for noteworthy announcements:
- The upcoming Entrepreneurship World Cup 2024 – Malaysia Chapter was introduced, setting the stage for national and regional entrepreneurial growth;
- The HICOOL Global Entrepreneurship Competition 2024, aiming to foster a spirit of innovation and surface top entrepreneurial talent on a global scale, was unveiled;
- A partnership between GITP and Marwari Catalyst from India was announced, introducing an acceleration program in the first quarter of 2024 designed to open new avenues for tech innovation and business expansion; and
- A strategic collaboration has been established between GITP and CGCC to facilitate office setup within GITP’s dedicated working spaces in both Malaysia and China.
Participants left the forum armed with a deep understanding of the Chinese market’s potential, empowering them with the insights necessary for strategic growth and expansion. GITP’s network played a pivotal role, facilitating connections that promise to accelerate technology exchange and business progress.
