Fourteen students from the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) have been announced as the Lazada Malaysia x APU ASBX Business Challenge winners.
The competition was designed to foster greater entrepreneurial spirit and business-oriented analytical thinking among the students, while providing them with a deeper understanding of the e-commerce industry.
The Lazada Malaysia x APU ASBX Business Challenge is one of the initiatives under the Enterprise@APU programme, known as ASBX (APU SandBox). The programme kicked off in April 2023 with a series of workshops that were conducted online and in person.
The workshops covered a range of topics related to e-commerce, including marketing, logistics, and customer service.
Following the workshops, the students were tasked with developing a business proposal that could be implemented on Lazada. The proposals were evaluated by a panel of judges from Lazada and APU.
In the end, three teams were selected as the winners of the competition. The winning teams were:
- Team Bargain, which proposed an integrated young entrepreneurs community platform with AI-enabled imaging.
- Team Underrated, which proposed a gamified seller platform and rewards system to motivate seller participation on e-commerce platforms.
- Team The Hustlers, which proposed a way to use artificial intelligence to personalize sales for digitally savvy and active customers on social media.
The winning teams each received a cash prize of RM1,500 and special Lazada University merchandise.
Lazada said it is committed to empowering young entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Through initiatives like the Lazada Malaysia x APU ASBX Business Challenge, Lazada is providing young people with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed in the e-commerce industry.
The Lazada Malaysia x APU ASBX Business Challenge was a great success. The competition helped to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among the students and provided them with a valuable learning experience.
