Plastics and rubbers form the basis of many modern products, resulting in affordable but high-quality consumer products. However, the environmental impact of plastic waste is undeniable.
In this regard, Taiwan Excellence, representing the highest achievement awarded for Taiwanese products, hosted the “Taiwan Excellence Plastic & Rubber Machinery Online Press Conference 2020” on 17 September to show the world its “smart, high-quality, tailor-made” manufacturing solutions – with an emphasis on environmentally-friendly plastics solutions.
Lee Guann-Jyh, Deputy Director General, Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA, spoke during the event, noting that due to the rise of global plastic restriction issues, many industries are working towards the circular economy model. Taiwan, ranking among the world’s top 6 producer and exporter of plastics and rubber machines, continues to accelerate development of all-electric injection molding machines with good environmental performance, featuring low noise, low vibration, power saving, cooling water saving and running cost savings, to become the best partner of the global manufacturing industry with environmentally friendly smart machinery.
Inspired by the concept of Industry 4.0, Taiwan’s plastic and rubber machinery industry combines Taiwan’s strong ICT & smart automation technologies to make it an indispensable part of the plastic & rubber global supply chain. Four selected Taiwan Excellence award winners, led by the Taiwan Foreign Trade Bureau (BOFT) and the Taiwan Foreign Trade Development Council (TAITRA), presented the latest trends and the newest technologies, from injection molding machines, blow molding machines, intelligent all-electric blow molding machines to extrusion machinery to buyers and media worldwide online.
FCS, the leading Taiwanese manufacturer of plastic injection molding machines showcased their “rotary table two-component injection molding machine” that won’t touch the mold plate thus reducing wear and tear. Its precise rotary table positioning system and patented clips can stabilize the injection molding process and products.
ChumPower is the largest PET blow molding machine manufacturer in Taiwan. Their “High speed stretch blow molding machine: L-Series” product is the fastest blow molding machine in the world, with a per cavity output of 2,250 bottles per hour, making it faster than its competitors’ by up to 25 percent.
Fong Kee is the largest and finest machinery manufacturer in Taiwan’s Plastic Extrusion Industry. Their “Intelligent All-Electric three-layer Blow Molding Machine” energy saving design decreases power consumption by 18 percent, and increases production output by 13.3 percent. It is equipped with a SCADA system, which collects data for further analysis to improve efficiency even further.
Diing Kuen specializes in extruders for making a diverse range of plastic products. Their “Five layers co-extrusion for industrial stretch-hood” is equipped with a data acquisition & analysis system and automatic feeding system. It is an IIoT gateway providing secure access to remote services.
Apart from this one-hour event, TAITRA will also hold the one-week TaipeiPLAS Digital week from 21 September to highlight Taiwan’s strengths and to boost business opportunities.
