The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has announced the successful conclusion of the DEX Connex Programme in Vietnam, in conjunction with the Vietnam Innovation Summit 2024.

MDEC said in a statement that it remains committed to supporting Malaysian tech companies in expanding their international reach and fostering bilateral collaborations that drive innovation and economic growth.

In line with this mission, MDEC facilitated the participation of 30 Malaysian tech companies in the programme, underscoring the collective contributions of all involved partners.

A key highlight of the programme was the signing and exchange of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Memoranda of Agreements (MoAs) between Malaysian and Vietnamese counterparts.

Building upon the existing MoU between MDEC and Sunwah Innovation, DEX Connex Vietnam 2024 served as an essential platform for strengthening bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Vietnam in the digital economy.

These collaborations aim to drive innovation, enhance competitiveness, and unlock new growth opportunities in the digital sector by leveraging each other’s expertise and strengths.

The companies involved in these exchanges included:

  1. Finhero (Malaysia) and Solarvest (Vietnam) – This strategic collaboration aims to transform Vietnam’s renewable energy landscape by creating new opportunities in solar project financing and utilising advanced technology to promote sustainable growth in this rapidly expanding sector.
  2. Sandmerit (Malaysia) and Wemonster Company Limited (Vietnam) – This partnership seeks to drive business performance and growth in Vietnam through innovative KPI software solutions.
  3. GoFluence (Malaysia) and GoFluence (Vietnam) – This strategic acquisition of a Vietnamese company underscores GoFluence’s commitment to expanding and enhancing its operations in Vietnam.

These partnerships have collectively generated engagements worth over RM150 million, underscoring the programme’s pivotal role in promoting Malaysian technology and innovation on the global stage.

Reflecting on the success of previous DEX Connex events in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, over 150 companies have participated, leading to 29 MoUs and MoAs being signed and creating more than RM600 million in potential opportunities for Malaysian tech companies across these markets.

The DEX Connex Vietnam 2024 programme was a collaborative initiative with key partners, including the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Vietnam, Sunwah Innovation, Malaysia Business Chamber Vietnam (MBCV), Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam, China Business Association HCMC Branch, and Innolab Asia.
