After 56 years in the business, CzipLee has recently expanded its Bangsar Village II (BVII) location from 4,970 to over 9,500 square feet, to offer an enhanced shopping experience by consolidating resources and closing other outlets, including CzipPlus in Bangsar and CzipLee Southkey in Johor.

Alvin Chen, CzipLee Executive Director said the revamped BVII space introduces two distinct shopping atmospheres: a classic, cosy layout that feels like a traditional neighbourhood bookstore, and a newly expanded, vibrant section with bold colours and retro accents.

This dual approach gives customers an engaging environment that combines CzipLee’s traditional charm with modern appeal, creating a multi-generational destination. Families can enjoy the convenience of a mall setting with accessible parking and lifts, making it easy for customers of all ages to visit.

For CzipLee, creating experiences that resonate with Malaysia’s creative community is essential. In addition to selling stationery and creative supplies, the brand is focused on three main values: quality, a thoughtfully curated product range, and a commitment to the community.

This year marks CzipLee’s 18th year in Bangsar, and the brand has developed a loyal customer base that appreciates its dedication to creativity and education.

CzipLee’s BVII store showcases its unique partnerships with renowned international brands like Clairefontaine, Kokuyo, and Pilot, along with premium writing brands such as Lamy, Sheaffer, and Cross.

These partnerships bring high-quality products and a luxurious shopping experience to customers. Notably, CzipLee has dedicated spaces like the Lamy shop-in-shop, a collaboration with Lit Books for curated literary selections, and Sumthings of Mine, known for journaling and lifestyle products.

In line with its support for local creators, CzipLee also stocks products from Malaysian brands such as Craftiviti and Loka Made, reflecting its advocacy for local artists and small businesses. This commitment to fostering homegrown talent extends to its events and exhibitions, making CzipLee not only a retail store but also a cultural hub.

Creative Events and Pop-Up Experiences
CzipLee’s expanded space at BVII has enabled it to host various creative events and collaborations. One of its recurring activities is the Décopatch event, where participants can explore creativity using decorative papers in colourful patterns. The event appeals to both children and adults, encouraging hands-on creative expression.

Among the current highlights is the Sketchbook Journey Exhibition, in partnership with premium sketchbook brand Stillman & Birn. Featuring artwork by nine local and international artists, this exhibition runs daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm until 6th November 2024. Art lovers can view pieces by renowned urban sketchers, adding a unique element to the store.

Additionally, the former CzipPlus outlet has been temporarily transformed into an event space. CzipLee recently hosted the Traveler’s Table, an exclusive dinner event in collaboration with the Traveler’s Company and Waig by Chipta11a restaurant.

CzipKid & Friends: A New Initiative for Young Creators
As part of its efforts to nurture the next generation, CzipLee is launching “CzipKid & Friends: Exploring Stories” on November 9-10. This event includes interactive workshops, storytelling sessions, and activities designed for children aged 4-12. Local authors, including Kimberley Boudville and Beatrice Oh, will lead sessions covering important topics like bullying, emotions, and personal safety.

Tickets start at RM120 per day, with options for individual workshops. This child-focused event supports CzipLee’s mission to make creativity and learning accessible to all.

By expanding its store and diversifying its offerings, CzipLee aims to be more than just a stationery store. With a blend of retail, creative workshops, and community events, CzipLee is transforming into a cultural destination that bridges generations and inspires creativity across the board.
