The pace of workplace transformation is reaching new heights, with LinkedIn’s *Work Change Snapshot* revealing that 10% of new hires in 2024 now hold roles that didn’t exist in 2000. Popular roles like Sustainability Manager, AI Engineer, Data Scientist, Social Media Manager, and Customer Success Manager are now a part of today’s professional landscape. In the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, skills are expected to evolve by 70% by 2030, accelerated by generative AI—a significant leap compared to a 52% shift without AI influence.
LinkedIn’s latest survey of over 5,000 global business leaders shows that only 1 in 10 organizations view themselves as AI pioneers, yet a transformation is underway, especially in APAC. Here, 7 in 10 executives from India and Australia are prioritizing AI adoption by 2025. With 8 in 10 executives in APAC actively pursuing skill development, the region is at the forefront of workplace evolution.
The adoption of AI not only enhances productivity but also fosters critical soft skills like creative ideation and design thinking. LinkedIn’s learning platform reflects this shift, with top courses in APAC markets focusing on strategic problem-solving, communication, and emotional intelligence.
Sumita Tandon, Director HR Business Partner at LinkedIn Asia Pacific, highlights the importance of adopting AI: “Embracing AI isn’t just about staying competitive; it’s about unlocking new potential, empowering teams, and creating a thriving, innovative workforce.”
To support this transition, LinkedIn has rolled out AI-powered tools, such as the Hiring Assistant, which automates repetitive recruitment tasks, and AI-driven coaching in LinkedIn Learning to help professionals practice key interpersonal skills.
Across APAC, 83% of knowledge workers now use generative AI, outpacing the global average of 75%, with marketing and sales professionals among the most engaged users.
As part of its ongoing commitment, LinkedIn is also launching new AI capabilities for B2B marketing through its Accelerate tool, offering improved campaign options and objectives that streamline the customer journey.
For sales leaders, LinkedIn is enhancing the Sales Navigator with tools like Lead Finder and Message Assist, providing teams with a competitive edge in nurturing client relationships.
Through these advancements, LinkedIn is equipping businesses across APAC to not only adapt to AI-driven change but to lead the charge in transforming the future of work.
