The Selangor State Development Corporation is targeting RM1 million worth of transactions during its Ekspo Usahawan Selangor 2022 (SELBIZ 2022), and a turnout of 10,000 visitors.
With the uptake of 160 booths from local entrepreneurs, the first SELBIZ 2022 will be held on 3-4 September 2022, at SACC Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Selangor, and will be officiated by the Menteri Besar Selangor, Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari.
“The programme is expected to be a driving force for Selangor’s economic performance this year, accelerating economic growth post-pandemic. For this first edition, we target approximately RM1 million in sales,” PKNS CEO, Datuk Mahmud Abbas, said at the soft launch of SELBIZ 2022.
“Over the years, it is apparent that flexibility and adaptability are the keys to successful businesses. Now more than ever, these unique entrepreneurial traits, coupled with quality products and services are critical in revitalising our economy as we work towards recovering from the pandemic.”
SELBIZ 2022 aims to provide an opportunity for start-ups and small businesses to introduce and promote their products to a wider audience. It also hopes to help elevate existing businesses by opening doors to high-level networking and market penetration prospects with industry players from a variety of sectors.
The exposition also aims to instill an entrepreneurial spirit among youths and also encourage high school and university students as well as aspiring entrepreneurs to attend.
“SELBIZ 2022 expects entrepreneurs from various industries ranging from retail and the services sector to register. It is inspiring to see so many local entrepreneurs from different fields take part in this initiative, and I hope to see many more joining us,” said Mahmud.
SELBIZ 2022, an extension of the various programmes organised by PKNS to support and uplift entrepreneurs in the state, will be held biennially as PKNS believes that the event will become an important platform to develop local entrepreneurs who have the potential to elevate the socio-economic status of the nation.
SELBIZ 2022 will also include a series of four knowledge-sharing forums aimed at assisting businesses to boost brand presence. The forum panel comprising a cross-section of industry experts and professionals will provide valuable advice and insights to entrepreneurs.
The expo also provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to network and connect with relevant agencies like Matrade, SME Corp, Tekun Nasional, SELDEC, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) as well as supermarket chains such as the Malakat Mall and Lotus.
One-to-one sessions with business coaches from Klinik Usahawan Selangor, a programme by the Selangor state government, will also be conducted. Visit here to register as an exhibitor or visitor.
