YTL Communications has launched ‘5G for All’, a campaign that paves the way for Malaysians to have access to 5G anytime, anywhere.
‘5G for All’ will pave the way for a 5G enabled future for all, YTL said in a statement, noting that the campaign includes the new cost-effective Infinite plans and device partnerships that provide 5G phones to customers free of charge when they sign up.
These plans offer customers “a truly ‘Infinite’ experience” without any throttling of speed for both 4G and 5G connections. At an average price of RM0.30 per GB, YTL said these plans are cheaper than the 4G market standard.
“Five months ago, we became the nation’s first telco to offer 5G. Today marks another major milestone as we launch the next phase of our journey in enabling all Malaysians to have easy access to 5G plans. With prices of goods increasing under the current inflationary climate, we are instead bringing down data prices by 300% to a mere RM0.30 per GB with our newest data and free device plans whilst offering speeds that are 20x faster,” said Dato’ Yeoh Seok Hong, managing director of YTL Communications.
“‘5G for All’ is our commitment to provide affordable 5G services and solutions for the benefit of every Malaysian. Our 5G offering will unlock high-speed experiences that will change the way we work, live, learn and play. We are inviting Malaysians to Switch to 5G with Yes and enjoy the most affordable plans, coupled with free phones on the best 5G network.
“The Infinite series of plans have been developed with customers in mind. With ‘Infinite’ high speed data at all times regardless of 4G or 5G, customers can enjoy 20x faster speeds at 300% cheaper prices. There is no longer any need to worry about having to top up or buy add-ons. The price for each plan is effectively a price cap, the more you consume the cheaper it gets! We are committed to offer a value-for-money 5G experience to serve Yes customers better every day,” said Yeoh.
The Yes ‘5G for All’ campaign’s device partnership offers renowned brands such as OPPO, Samsung, Vivo and Xiaomi.
Yeoh said, “We are excited to be partnering with these notable brands who have given us their unwavering support and we look forward to working closely with them. We are confident that the coming together of Yes and these device manufacturers will see many more joining the 5G bandwagon in Malaysia.”
Ralph Marshall, Digital Nasional Bhd CEO, said: “DNB is greatly encouraged by the response from YTL Communications’ Yes throughout our journey to deploy 5G nationwide. We applaud Yes for being first to 5G and forging the next chapter with their ‘5G for All’ campaign. 5G will play an important role in boosting Malaysia’s digital economy.
“With the launch of this campaign, Yes is lowering barriers to entry enabling affordable 5G access to all Malaysians. We look forward to continuing collaboration to accelerate the adoption of 5G in Malaysia.”
The online pre-registration can be done at www.yes.my, and from 9 June 2022, customers can sign up at all Yes, OPPO, Samsung, Vivo, Xiaomi and partner stores.
