Singapore Management Festival, a premier thought leadership and innovation platform, returns for the sixth time in 2021 and gathers more than 20 C‐suite speakers and young business leaders in a three‐day virtual event.
The event is expected to welcome more than 500 attendees from 20 to 22 October 2021, said Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) in a statement. There will be topics on how businesses can innovate and transform to take on opportunities and meet challenges in the ‘next normal’
The ‘next normal’, a term made popular by McKinsey & Company to reflect the new normal in a post‐virus era, will see ‘a dramatic restructuring of the economic and social order in which business and society have traditionally operated’.
“The radically different post‐Covid world will require companies to be adaptive and employ a new range of management skills and strategies to cope with systematic changes and thrive beyond the pandemic.
“Leadership in the new environment is going to require an in‐depth understanding of what it means to be innovative and sustainable, and will need to focus on capacity building,” said SIM.
Surrounding the theme of ‘Leadership & Innovation for Exponential Growth’, the event will feature four expert panels consisting of high‐level business executives from leading companies and organisations such as HP, ONE Esports, CreditEase, Salesforce, Temasek, Singtel, United Overseas Bank, SATS and LinkedIn.
They will be exchanging insights on the most pertinent issues relating to leadership, human capital, customer innovation and sustainability in the future of work such as:
- Leadership: The panellists will re‐examine and re‐define what leadership means in a post‐pandemic world, through the lens of what their companies have gone through during the pandemic;
- Human Capital: The panellists will explore how leaders and business owners should approach learning and development and capacity building in a highly VUCAH (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous and hyper‐connected) world;
- Customer innovation: The panellists will share the secrets to delighting customers, and how companies can innovate with a customer‐centric focus; and
- Sustainability: The panellists will debate on what being sustainable means, and how business and sustainability strategies can be aligned to achieve business purpose and success.
In addition to the panel discussions, there will be individual presentations from Visa Inc and Microsoft, who will bring the participants through their companies’ transformative journeys in learning and innovation in the midst of a constantly shifting landscape. There will also be a Young Business Leaders’ Forum on the final day, featuring local Singaporeans who have been on the ‘Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia’ list.
