South Korea’s interest in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) is growing every year. This year, 25 importers from South Korea will be participating in the Incoming Buying Missions (IBM) in conjunction with MIHAS 2013, the biggest number since their first participation in 2005.
The Korean delegates are sourcing for products and services which include herbal cosmetics, services related to veterinary, halal friendly tour, medical tour and logistics, medical devices and food such as confectioneries, drinks, and seafood.
According to Mr. A. Rashid Mohd Zain, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Trade Commissioner in Seoul, more South Korean importers are looking forward to do business with Malaysian companies due to aggressive promotion and networking activities by MATRADE. In 2012, sales generated from South Korean buyers at the IBM MIHAS amounted to RM14.2 million and this year, sales are expected to more than double the amount.
Organised by MATRADE, IBM MIHAS 2013 will be held on 2 April 2013 at MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur and brings a total of more than 500 pre-selected international buyers to partake in pre-arranged one-to-one business meetings with local manufacturers of halal products and services.
