The 1-Innovation Certification for Enterprise Rating and Transformation (1-Innocert) will give small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in high-technology and innovation-driven industries a competitive advantage nationally and abroad, says SME Corp Malaysia.
Chairman Datuk Ir Dr Mohamed Al Amin Abd Majid said at the SME Innovation Showcase (SMIDEX) 2012 that the certification is an accurate reflection of a company’s innovativeness.
A RM200,000 cash award is given to the most innovative SME in six categories while the main award for most innovative SME is worth RM1 million.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will present the prizes at the official launch of the showcase tomorrow.
Today 31 SMEs, including Algae International Sdn Bhd, Coffeeland Sdn Bhd, Orchid Life Sdn Bhd and Vepro Group Sdn Bhd, received their 1-Innocert certification, bringing the total number of SMEs so certifies nationwide to 114.
